Greetings ~

Sometimes, you look at an old photograph and wonder, what was wrong with these people? Looking at the photos they took sometimes make you wonder how we have survived so long in this world.

We have strange people all around the world today and, looking at some of the photos that have been taken in the last century or so, we find that "strange" is not a new concept. People have worn crazy outfits, used make-up and have altered photographs and have come up with some weird images. If you think that this is a new thing due to the internet, then look at these pictures and you'll see that crazy is nothing new.

Throughout history folks have been interested in altering photography to make the viewer see something that isn't real. With the technology that we have today, it's much easier to come up with fake imagery that can fool the general public. During the last two centuries, however, it was harder to create these effects. But they did it anyway. Many of the pictures were done as a joke and everyone knew they were altered. But some photographers tried to do a good enough job to fool the viewer into thinking that the photograph was real.

Monsters, ghosts and spirits were a popular venue for the photographer. Making the public believe that these creatures were real through their pictures. Today we have faked photos of UFOs, bigfoot and a host of other creatures. Back in the 1800s and earlier 1900s monsters and ghosts were the big news topics. And a photograph really put the viewer over the edge. Let's face it, if the picture was from a real photographer, it HAD to be real...right? Today we know that's not the case. But back then, people actually believed what they saw.

This blog is dedicated to all those picture takers who tried to fool the public into believing that out worldly things and events actually were real. And in many cases they succeeded.

NOTE:

I'm not adding any captions to these photos. I want the view to take them as they are and come up with your own conclusions.
